Motivation has left the chat (that’s okay).
The mid-month check in you might not want, but you need.
This time last week, I held my first webinar.
I’ve hosted webinars in the past, but for other brands.
This one was run by me just for my community.
Two things surprised me:
How nervous I was!!!
Where people actually were on their Linkedin journey
I kicked things off with a quick check-in:
A) I post regularly
B) I’ve posted once
C) I’ve never posted before
There were no C’s. No one said:
“I’ve never posted before.”

Did you make the webinar? Reply to this email with any feedback, I would love to hear!
Instead, I heard:
“I’ve posted a few times.”
“I post occasionally.”
“I post… then stop.”
Every single person had already started.
That genuinely shocked me.
Because starting takes courage. Showing up is hard.
And fear, confidence wobbles, and motivation dips are all very real.
I’ve experienced all those things and still do…
But the hardest part - beginning - is something so many of you have already done.
That matters.
It means you’re not at the start.
You’re in the middle.
And halfway through the month is actually a really powerful place to be.
By now, January motivation has usually quietened down.
Christmas feels like a million years ago (already).
The excitement of New Year's resolutions have faded.
You suddenly realise you’ve got to do it all again. A full year ahead.
Motivation is always going to fail you.
Not because you don’t care. But that is exactly why you can’t rely on motivation. That’s exactly why this is the time that matters most.
The middle.
Where consistency beats hype.
Where habits are built.
Where small actions compound.
Improve by just 1% this week, and future you feels it.
Not today. Not tomorrow. But by the end of the month and beyond.
So here’s your gentle mid-month check-in.
Your one tiny thing today.
Choose one thing you’ve been putting off.
The task that’s been staring at you from your to-do list for weeks.
The one you keep meaning to do… but haven’t.
Now, here’s how to actually do it:
1. Get specific
Name the task clearly.
Not “grow the business”, but “reach out to 10 potential clients about working together.”
2. Break it down one level
Ask yourself: what needs to happen for this to be done?
For example:
Build a short list
Draft the message
Send 10 DMs or emails
That’s enough.
3. Time-block it (non-negotiable)
Put it in your calendar for first thing tomorrow morning.
Treat it like a meeting you wouldn’t cancel.
4. Eat the frog 🐸
When the time comes:
Phone on Do Not Disturb
Slack off
Close LinkedIn
Do the thing without distractions.
Eating the frog first works because you can’t talk yourself out of it - and once it’s done, everything else feels lighter. You’ve already won the day.
That’s how progress actually happens. One avoided thing, done.
I’m cheering you on and heading off to slay my own frog: the accountant.
See you next week!
Mischa 🤍
